Tutor

Tutors meet with learners about one to two hours per week with a one year commitment.  Tutoring may be done in person at the Chamber of Commerce or other public venues or online via Zoom, Google Meet, WhatsApp, etc.  Online training materials for tutors is provided as well as ongoing support.  Tutors only need a passion for literacy – no previous teaching experience is required.

Volunteer Opportunities

Shawano County Literacy Council welcomes enthusiastic individuals who may be willing to volunteer one time or ongoing in many areas.  We currently are seeking board members (application required).  Other areas that we would welcome volunteers are grant writing, publicity, recruitment, web building or organizing special events.
